I am President and Managing Director of Smart Steel Technologies Americas, the U.S. and Americas arm of a Berlin-based AI and optimization software company focused on production scheduling and planning for steel mills. Our systems use mixed-integer linear programming and AI-based optimization to synchronize melt shop, caster, and rolling mill operations into a single, continuous production flow.
I founded the Americas subsidiary in September 2021 and have built the business across North and South America since then, covering sales, project management, and customer success. Prior to Smart Steel Technologies I served as General Manager of SMS Digital in Pittsburgh and as Managing Director of QuinLogic North America, both under SMS group following the acquisition of QuinLogic.
I am an active member of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST), where I serve as Decarbonization Officer on the Digitalization Applications Technology Committee and as a recurring speaker and session chair at AISTech and the AIST Industrial Automation Conference.
